Official Plan Review - Next Steps

By Chris | November 23, 2009 |

It seems like forever since we’ve heard about the City’s 5 year Official Plan Review (OPR) process. Months ago, the call went out for suggestions as to how they should move forward with the OPR process, and what you would like to see changed in your city.

I’m hoping for some insight soon. I’m starting to get old…

I’ve got a Development Charge Task Force Meeting immediately prior to this special meeting of the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC), so I might be a couple of minutes late - but I wouldn’t dare miss it. The two reports they are submitting to council through PAC, like the Commercial Demand and Supply Analyses (PDF 18 MB) report, or the Residential Intensification Analyses (PDF 2 MB) report earlier in the year, will be key building blocks we could use (OR could be used against us) in our quest for building policy enabling a tight-knit core-focused Official Plan.  They are available here (see links below), but you can also request hard copies from the city.

See you there?
