Architectural Society announces Inspiration+Intervention presentation series
The St. Clair Society of Architects (SCSA) announces the first in a series of presentations entitled [Re] Windsor_Inspiration+Intervention to be held at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts, Salon A, on October 29 at 6:30 pm. The presentation, featuring the architectural and engineering design team of the new Dr. Suzuki Public School, is free of charge and open to the general public.
The Greater Essex County District School Board has invested in the creation of a unique infrastructure renewal project – one that will inform the design of educational facilities well into the future. The Dr. David Suzuki Public School showcases innovative and proven environmental and energy efficient technologies, demonstrating a new world of possibilities in educational facility design.
Windsor is one of many communities in the midst of a dramatic transformation from a manufacturing economic model to one that’s more service-oriented. Over the course of its history, Windsor has experienced this before and as a result has been a place of innovation. [Re]Windsor_Inspiration+Intervention’s intent is to help in the redefinition of our City and to recall the spirit that had spawned so many innovations.
”Sustainability is but one intervention that Windsor will soon be exploring,” said John Hrovat, Chairperson, St. Clair Society of Architects. “Looking inward toward community issues and building in a sustainable fashion will put Windsor back on track to a new future, as a model of inspiration.”

unfortunate it is the same evening as the Municipal Cultural Master Plan Open House, though that is from 5 to 9 p.m., and it’s possible some will be able to attend both
