CJAM Pledge Drive - Help SD Help YOU!

By Chris | October 25, 2008 |

Yes, it’s that time of year again. CJAM’s annual pledge drive is underway as we speak. This is the time when your local, community radio station comes back to you - the listener - and asks you to support the great efforts that its voluteers do 24/7.

CJAM is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary on the FM dial, and has subsequently set a goal of $25,000 for this years pledge drive. Some of the more established shows on CJAM (I’m listening to Adam Fox’s show right now - he’s also the station manager) set goals for their shows (Adam’s is $300) and I would LOVE to have SDRadio lead the individual programs in the pledge-count.  With your help, we can!

$20-$24 pledge = Official CJAM Bottle Opener-Keychain/ CJAM Button/ CJAM Program Guide

Your pledge goes to supporting this non-profit radio station with on-going maintenance and equipment replacement.  CJAM’s listeners have supported the station through the years, lifting it from a 5 watt broadcast that couldn’t reach past the border of the university campus on the AM dial, to the 500 watt FM contender that it is now.  CJAM reaches out into Essex County and the suburbs of Detroit, all because of the generosity of CJAM supporters.

$40-$99 pledge = Official 25th Anniversary CJAM American Apparel Tee Shirt

$100-? pledge = Official CJAM Limited Edition 25th Anniversary American Apparel Pullover Hoody! (While Supplies Last!)

So, here are some of the incentives to entice you to pledge this year.  The keychain/bottle opener, CJAM pin and programming schedule are yours for a pledge between $20 and $24.  A pledge between $25 and $39 gets you a CD from CJAMs music incentive list.  Wanna give more than that?  A $40 to $99 pledge gets you one of CJAMs limited edition 25th anniversary T’s, and anything over that will land you one of these sweet 25th anniversary pull-over hoodys.

another one of our ohosts for the showOne of our cohosts for te showWe want you to call in and pledge during our show SO MUCH, that we’re pulling out all the stops. Joining Andrew and I in the studio during the pledge drive show is A news anchor Jim Crichton as well as the host of CBCs “The Early Shift” Tony Doucette.  We’ll be sharing stories on the importance of community radio and the encouragement of continued dialogue to the health of a community.  So call in (in Windsor: 519.971.3630, or in Detroit: 963.6112 ext: 3630) between noon and 1:00 this Monday (or contribute online at www.cjam.ca) and help ScaleDown and CJAM continue to provide Windsor and Detroit with quality programming that you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
