ScaleDown Radio, July 8, 2008
I must tell you - I was nervous about this week’s show. While off “enjoying” the sensations that tent camping amongst 40′ RVs (complete with satellite dishes) bring, I had to hand the duties of hosting/producing Scaledown Radio to someone else. Scary stuff indeed, considering who it was that I was handing them over to. Mark and Andrew have had a simmering battle going on for months and I was going to allow these two to be alone together - on the air - in CJAM’s studio.
I must be nuts!
Yet - they did a good job! OK, big load off my shoulders. Andrew and Mark discussed the merits and pitfalls of the concept of the “Two Nation Destination” idea and how Windsor plays a part in this “partnership”. Does this cities “investments” in events happening in other cities actually have an impact in Windsor’s economy? Windsor is contractually obligated to spend $80,000 per year on the Grand Prix for the next 4 years. What do we get for that? They obviously have different ideas about the subject and how the two cities play off each other in regards to event sponsorship. The fireworks were out in full force, but it’s obvious that these two guys care deeply about the direction their city is heading.
They just argue about which route to take to get there.
Lead in tune, as always, was If I Had To Eat You by Ten Indians
Enjoy!
