A little paternal bragging

By Chris | May 28, 2008 |

OK, forgive me my fatherly indulgence on this one.

My daughter and a friend of hers just got back from the CJAM production studio (thanks Cassie) with me where they recorded and edited up an advertisement for a hypothetical not-for-profit they invented for a class project.  Get this - its called Concrete Earth and they are fighting the perils of urban sprawl.

Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it?

So, for your listening pleasure - here it is…

I too have been letting my daughter know the horrors of urban sprawl and how it destroys not only our environment but all of our pocket books. Great job Chris!

How sweet daddy! Thank you for writing about me and my friend! For everyones info, my class project was to choose an enviromental issue, so me and my friend did ours on Urban Sprawl. Our name is Concrete Earth, and our slogan is “Urban sparwl pains us all, think about it.”
Daddy? Do you think you could post some of our work up?

You know, if this isn’t technology at work. Two individuals, father and daughter, communicating via the digital divide. This would be a very Leave It To Beaver moment — if they didn’t live in the same house! :) Just thought I’d point that out as I had a similar conversation with some business associates today about the CrackBerry habits and their kids texting each other. Makes me chuckle!

On a more serious note, way to go Lil’ Miss Holt. If you are representative of where we are headed with our future generations, I don’t think we are in nearly as much trouble as CNN would have us believe.
