Thursday’s Perfect Arts Trifecta

By Mark | March 28, 2008 |

Yesterday was a late night for me as I had planned a perfect evening of arts

My first stop was the Art Gallery to watch the WIFF Presentation of the film ‘My Kid Could Paint That’ along with a display of art from children from the Art Gallery Programs and the Arts Council Spring break program. The film was an interesting commentary on what is art, who decides whether abstract art is good, how does it derive its value and child celebrity.

My second stop was PHOG Lounge for a Poetry Reading. Unfortunately my tight table (so much art for one night but so little time) did not allow me to stay for the reading but kudo’s to PHOG for being the Windsor’s Premier Live Music Venue according to CJAM and as Windsor’s ‘keeper’ of our cultural and musical identity.

My third stop was the ROOM (shameless plug alert) to watch Jamie Greer’s and Damien Zakoors presentation of ‘Scene at the Room’ and enjoyed the music of What Seas What Shores and Orphan Choir. Keep up great work Jamie and Damien.

All this while reading WAMM Windsor Arts and Music Magazine, the newest entry in the promotion of Windsor’s arts scene and from the looks of the first issue a sure bet as a successful Magazine.

I’ll be out there next week to see how much of that night I can recreate
