Goodbye, Cruel World
Well, by now astute SD readers have noticed a notable absense in our regular contributor line-up, so I should take this opportunity to fill in the blanks and lay to rest any consipiracy theories that may be brewing in the blogosphere.
ScaleDown has lost one of its founding writers this past week. Josh Biggley is an I.T. specilist whose talents are in demand across the globe, and he has taken advantage of that fact and accepted employment out east in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. So, contrary to local Real Estate myth, he sold his home lickety-split and is on the road in his U-Haul as we speak. We are sad to see Josh go, but realize that being a sole-income household with four children brings with it certain obligations that supercede those of writing for a website.
So you will be seeing Josh’s name dissappear from the contributors list, but Josh has promised me that after he gets settled in P.E.I., he will be guest-writing for SD from his new location in Downtown Charlottetown. I know that Josh will be using his keen eyes in bringing examples of how Charlottetown has kept the heartbeat of its downtown and how its lessonscan be alied to Windsor.
On a personal note, Josh and I go way back to the days of political activism and stirring the pot in numerous provincial and federal campaigns. His even temperment and sharp eye will be sorely missed as we continue to bleed talent in this city with the blinding lure of brighter futures from afar.
So be well, my friend. Have a safe and non-eventful journey out east. All the best from the writers and readers of SD to you and your family.
